synodontis in brackish?

I am converting my tank over to brackish to house a freshwater snowflake moray eel. This tank has two syno. cats in it. I read somewhere that these fish cannot tolerate ANY salt. I want the salinity to be about 1.005, will the cats do ok in this type of water?

your moray needs a much higher salinity, around 1.015-1.021. They're actually SW fish if you want to get technical. 1.005 isn't high enough to keep it long term.

And, no, the syno's will not be able to live in the tank for long with much salt. They can tolerate medicinal doses (at least, my UDC can) but not the full strength marine needed for the eel.

ok, that's what I thought although I read fresh morays do well between 1.005 and 1.010. I am going to move him to his own salty tank.
