T5 ballast help

Hi All

I have a light fixture with four T5 39 watt lights and has two ballast
had one light one each side burnt out and they where a year old so it was time to replace
so after i connected the first two light running off one ballast i plugged it in flicked the
switch and bang and pop and there goes two new lights they even cracked open

ok so the fixture is a cheap one :0 the plugs for the lights are not mounted there push on plugs so you can mix them up and here is my question

each ballast supply's two lights so there are four wires in and four out for the light and two in for the power supply on each ballast


so lets say on the left side of the ballast there are two wires in and two out for one light and on right side there are two wires in and two out for the other light


so if i pluged in my first light from the left side and the other from the right side would this matter so my T5 light would be in from the left and out from the right



would this give me trouble

or do you think its just ballast acting up and i need a new ones ?
