: answer boo's other questions. Tank size, water test results, other fish in the tank. And what exactly is wrong with that fish? List all the symptoms (and what kind of fish is that anyways? looks like an angel to me, but I really had to stare at the photo for a minute to figure it out.) Other than they eye being a little cloudy, I cant see anything wrong. But that might just be from the lighting in the photo.

I dont' know if it looks like the eye is cloudy, but I think he was referring to the bumps on the angel's head. They look kinda white/gray or silver.sumthin fishy said:

I have taken the fish to the local aquarium fish centre.
Fish put into the quarantine tank. Treated with Metronidazole and fungus treated with Pimenta racemosa 1% (1tsp per 40l)
Symptoms point to Hexamita parasites.

you're welcome. But we still need to know ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels in your tanks. If those aren't under control, there is a high chance that the fish will fall ill to something else. Do you have a liquid test kit? I suggest getting your own, because even though the store can do those for you, those levels can and will change within hours. Also, stores often use a strip/dip test. Those are highly inaccurate and hard to read, so I always recommend the liquid tests.

parameters help. I just lost one of my angels to this same problem.
my parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and <20 nitrates(it's 20 from my tap)
surprisingly it only showed up on one angel in a tank with 4..the others are fine..this tank also gets 2x25% wc per week since it's a breeding tank.
i dosed with metro and it seemed to work..but this is a persistant problem for just this one fish..I believe the rigors of spawning took their toll on her.
clean water is essential in treatment to prevent other issues..however, part of it has to deal with the health of the fish..
it is not entirely clear but some studies to point to a flagellated protazoans..which also tend to appear in water that may have signs of poor water quality.
I believe also that some fish may also be more prone to the infection.
in my case on lession burrowed into the gill plate..eventually affecting the fishes ability to breath..she appeared to be on the recovery when this final lession hit . I couldn't bear to see her struggling so I put her down today.
