contrary to what most say I recomend a flash... if you take the picture at an angel the light does not bounce back just makes the fish look even more beautiful
I highly agree with this. I always take pics with flash and avoid the glare by taking the pics on a bit of an angle as you stated. Getting closer to the glass is better than really far away as well.
