I just removed hastily three kuhli loaches and one female betta from a 20 gal that seems to have sprung a leak at the seams. I am not sure if there is another kuhli loach in the gravel or among the plant roots of the plants which are now stuffed in a bucket in about two inches of murky water.
It's a good thing I had another 20 tank setup almost right next to it I could quick drop fish into.

I hope the fish are ok because I was getting concerned about an outlet and electric equipment that was getting dripped on/sprayed with water..so I moved them faster and rougher then I might have otherwise.

After hearing what it takes to repair a tank, I'm going to retire the standard 20 gal and move my fish and plants in my thirty gal. Now my fish can live in a 1/3 filled thirty gal. A space waster since I cannot set it up fully...but I cannot afford to run out and buy a new tank, especially with a tank sitting in my bedroom storing stuff.

Not a good evening for me, but I'm glad this happened when I was home.
I saw water on the floor earlier today, however I was not terribly concerned as I was adding fresh water to the tank and thought I spilled some.

Turn it into a frog or reptile tank :D

Its not that hard to fix a leak, a razor blade and some new sealant, and your done. I resealed one of my 29g tanks after a leak, and its fine now. All you do is use a razor blade to cut off the old sealant and just reseal the seam with new sealant, let it sit for 2 days, then refill it and make sure it works.
