I haven't posted a question (stupid or otherwise) lately so here you go. Is it better for the fish to leave the tank alone once it's set up than to change items in the tank occasionally? Since fish are trapped in our glass boxes is it a good thing to put new items in the tank occasionally to provide some sort of interest for the fish? I know they have have little fish brains, but I always have mixed feelings about taking animals out of their natural habitat. Thanks.

Some fish love to have things rearranged - it gives them something new to explore. Other are upset by changes. It really depends on the stock and their personality.

wow. that's a lot.
i would consider at least rearranging things occasionally. i do it in my tanks just cuz i get bored by looking at the same thing all the time. don't feel like you have to go out and buy a whole new set of decorations just to entertain your fish.

I'll buy the fish young and let them grow. Hopefully they'll get along. If not, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. If I get tired of the tank interior, I'll change it. I just wondered if the fish would need an occasional change too.
