Does anyone know of a program that will allow you to virtually design your tank? I'm talking about trying different substrates, plants, etc, and seeing how your design will look before actually adding to or moving anything in your tank? Hubby and I have looked high and low and can find nothing!!!

thanks in advance

lol none that i know of. i wouldn't use sketchup nearlly impossible to do plants and fish

I am posting mainly to bump this up.
Surely there is such a thing. If not someone here had better design one quick.

Google sketch is a great bit of software to design all the layout, yes it cannot do plants or fish, but, its great for actually building a system..here is what i did for mine...

google sketchup is used commonly to design objects and buildings on googleearth

Such a piece of softare would be great to have. I have an aquarium management software program called Aquarix. But that is for operating aquariums. Software to mock up your aquarium first would be a god send... and a heck of a lot dryer... lol

It seems that it would be an easy piece of software to design. Not that I know anything about designing software lol. But given what Does exist, I am sure it is really doable. Do you think maybe they figure not big enough market?
You could do it the mid twentieth century way, and make your own plant/decor/ substrate images cut out of that thin vinyl that comes in different colors.... and switch them around on a background. :grinyes: ....
There was a toy like that in the 60s or so, I can't remember the name. Anyone else here old like me?
Or how about, photoshop it...
I am simply shocked and appalled that we can not find such software! Agreivous falure of the market economy! One of you young people get out there and design it right now!
(Then give 10% of your Gi-normous profits to AC)
