Hi there. I bought a 2 foot long tank a month and half ago, everything has been going relatively fine. But the other day I noticed that the longer (front and back) panes of glass are bending outward a bit! Is it normal for a tank to do that, will it be a problem? Please advise, I am very distressed. Thanks.

Kieren.

Unless it's a bow front, it should not be bending. I have 5 glass tanks and none of them have ANY visible bendin the glass. what are the other dimensions of the tank, and do you know how thick the glass is?

Usually only Plexiglas bows on the front and back panels... With glass they are usually straight... Does the top of the tank have a center support? If it has been removed or if it is broken then the glass will begin to bow and sooner or later it pulls the seams apart and lets the water out...

over 24" it should not bend enough to be noticeable, i would try to add a center support, how tall is it? and how thick is the glass, my 40 gal is 36" long with no center support and it does NOT have a bow, something is wrong IMHO.
