Well it looks like I've managed to snag another fish tank for free :headbang2:

I'm not 100% on the size as I don't have it yet, but they think it's a 33 gallon. I want to get some mildy aggresive fish this time, as I already have a community tank.

So far I'm thinking 4 Tiger barbs and 4 Green Barbs, but I'm not sure what else to add that won't get destroyed by the barbs.

All the fish I like get really big :( Everytime I see a fish that I like, I do some research and find out that they get to be 12+ inches. (Frontosa, Clown loach, Iridescent Shark, Pictus Cat) I'm starting to get pretty frustrated.

So I'm open to suggestions, what can survive in a tank of barbs?

ok here:giant danio, flying fox, red-tailed black shark, rainbow shark, corys , and kribensis, no slow fish or long fin fish.

Hmmm, I've always liked Kribensis so I will definitely consider that.

What about German Rams?

Would regular zebra danios be ok instead of giant danios?

Sounds like you're saying that size isn't so much an issue as long as they are quick and don't have long fins? Would Tetras be ok, or Rasboras?

I have some neon rosy barbs and balloon mollies in with my tigers, they get along great.

Rams are a big no-no with anything as nippy as tiger barbs.

You could try a RTS, but that's about all I would recommend.

:iagree:

You could add a couple Albinos and a RBS, RTS, or Striped Raphael IMO.

I have tiger barbs and danios are a no go. I have been keeping Paradise Fish in with my tigers and they do great. Beautiful fish, too, I might add. I've had platties in with them and they were fine, as well. Tiger barbs are an excellent choice, I love mine!
