I HAVE A 25GAL TANK AND WAS WONDERING THE BEST TANK MATES FOR A BLOOD PARROT . ALSO I HAVE A 20 GAL WITH A SILVERDOLLOR AND BUTTERFLY CHILID ,PLECO,2 CORY CATS,AND A FARWELLOW CAT ANYTHING ELSE GO??? THE SILVER DOLLOR IS THE SIZE OF A NICKLE THANKS dona

To start please don't use all caps when typing. Are you saying that you have a bloodparrot in a 25 gallon. Some bloodparrots can get up to 9 inches long so one may get to big for a 25. But anyways any other simeiler sized cichlids make good tankmates. Convicts, severums, oscars, firemouths. But you owuld need to get a bigger tank to put any of these with the bloodparrot.
I would ditch the silver dollar casue they need to be in groups and a 20 gallon couldnt hold a group of silver dollars. You could try to get the butterfly cichlid a mate. I dont know what a farwellow cat is so I dont know what to tell ya. You could get a couple more cories. You could also get a small school of some kind of barb or tetra. I recomend cherry barbs. Goodluck.

i'd trust the firemouth, and maybe the oscar, but i wouldn't put one in a 25 gal, he'd outgrow it too quickly. not the convict. farwellow cat is a suckerfish (like the pleco don't know the official termiology), has tendrils coming off of his tail. much better looking than most plecos, and doesn't have as high a waste load. i've got one and my cichlids act as if he doesn't exist. i'd consider a blue ram, or a bolvian ram.

I have a BP in a 75 gallon tank with an Oscar, and they are the best of friends. Sometimes they even sleep in the same pot. I saw them sharing a Beef heart cube the other day. Usually my Oscar charges the food, but not when the BP is there. They are great tankmates, because the Oscar spits out food everywhere when he eats, and the little BP goes around and eats all of the pieces. They were introduced to the tank, when they were both about 2" long. Now the Oscar is 9-10" and the BP is about 4-5". I did have a smaller firemouth in the tank, and it was constantly harrassing the BP.

If you had a larger tank, I would suggest severums, rainbow cichlids, other BPs or blue acaras.
