So, I've had my 15g planted up for about 8 months now and I'm just getting a bit tired / frustrated with the usual planted tank issues. I want something...simpler. But still nice looking.

But I can't think of what category that fits in. I don't like fake plants and all that whatnot. I want to make a natural-env type tank that doesn't include plants. Something that has a more hardscape-heavy theme. But again, I don't even know if this exists.

My first thought was switching to a salt-water tank but that's a whole other beast in and of itself. It's still a consideration, but for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of cash I don't know if I want to tackle that quite yet.

SO yeah. Suggestions? I don't really know what I want to do or if there even is a category that this would fit into. I defer to the wisdom of all of you :help:

Tanganyikan Shell Dwellers. They are so fun to watch and create an ever changing sandscape. No plants needed or wanted. My son has a tank of them and we really enjoy them.
