Tanked! is driving me nuts!

Still raining :( so i'm watching the Tanked! marathon on Animal Planet....does anyone have any idea where they hide all the.essential parts. the plumbing must be incredible, OR inexistent. Where's the refugiums? Filters? Skimmers? They don't have big enough stands to hide all that stuff! (particularly in the telephone booth and the gimball machine). Seriously, it looks like they pour, add fish, and leave.

How full of bologna are these guys?!?!?!

The telephone tank had all of the equipment run through the wall and into the room behind it.

People other than us just dont want to see that kind of stuff. They put in comedy stuff or picking out the fish instead.
 
People do the same thing with home setups, just on less fancy scales. They hide stuff like that all over the place. The most common seem to be neighboring rooms/closets or basements. It requires a bit more work, but I've seen quite a few setups on other forums where people have used closets/utility rooms right behind the wall their tank sits in front of, or set up large water containers in their basement. Run the plumbing through the floors/walls and no one will ever see it.

When you are working at that scale, you aren't worrying about the cost of the project. The options become drastically expanded. The reason the most standard setup is tank over top of sump is because it is the simply one of the cheapest available.


The nice thing about it is that when you aren't working with the limitations of a tank stand, you also have don't have to worry about problems like aesthetics or noise. A 100g+ rubbermaid containers becomes a cheap sump with endless customization. The list of return pumps becomes endless without worrying about making the living room sound like a air port. Plumbing layout becomes easier as everything isn't crammed into a small space.
 
What is with this season being all about talking about stuff they did last season? That is driving me crazy.

The tanked unfiltered? I think that is just filler until they make new episodes. I saw commercials for episodes I havent seen yet. I think today is supposed to be a new episode. But I am not sure.

Simple with these types of shows...they had no idea what it'd become.

They expected a novelty show where people would have very little interest in the details. They produced enough material for that. What they got was a hit show where the viewers keep demanding more details. So since they did't have enough production material set aside for a hit show, they keep reusing what they have.
 
Khemul- great I was hoping he wouldn't ever figure that out! Our fish room is next to a room we use for storage... Now he is going to want to put in a giant aquarium and run the plumbing through the wall!
