I have a 10gal tank that had 2 red eye puffers, one of them died today and i'm wondering about a possible tankmate or two. Does anyone know of any fish that can live with them and are fast enough to avoid fin nips?

I am going to be moving to a 33 gal within a year when i upgrade my GSP tank to a 55.

anyone?

as in red-eye red-tailed puffers? as in C. Irrubesco(sp.)? Though they are peaceful 10 gallons is probably the amount they would need for territory(for one) and if you have an aggressive one, nothing else will be able to live with it. If you really want to try, look into panda cories, keeping in mind that you need to keep close watch and need a place to isolate them if yours turns out to be aggressive. Additionally, take the puffer out before you add them and rearrange the decor.

yep, that would be her, red tail red eye and she is mean. as I said in my post she will be moved to a 33 by december. I have decided though to just keep her with the pleco and snails. I got 16 little pond snails for free at my lfs so I'm going to keep hersolo with those in hopes of keeping the snails coming for snacks for her whenever she wants them and for my 2 GSP.

I got her and her deceased mate in my lfs believing that they were brackish fish as I have a 33 gal brackish set-up. I then discovered that they are FW fish, sadly too late to save her mate who was beginning to look ill in BW and died the day after transfer to the new 10gal FW. She is aggressive though and the mollies that are in my BW tank lost fins to prove it so I guess she'll have to be solitary.
