tankmates for bettas

You may want to look at the white cloud minnows they are bright colored and active fish that doesn't require heat.
It really depends on your betta temperament.
For my tank, I have my betta along with neon tetras, bronze and albino corydoras.
At first my betta will nip the cories, but has since then stopped and infact they swim next to each other now (trust me its funny
). Neon tetras are too fast for the betta and not recommended for a 2.5 gallon tank.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like your tanks are pretty small to have many tank mates for your bettas. I'm not sayin' don't, but fish like tetras like to be in schools, you'll overstock pretty quickly on a 2.5 gallon.
