How do you know if an angel is male/female. The dude at the shop wasnt much help.

From what I understand angels are exteremely hard to sex even as adults. Your best bet is just waiting to see if they pair off or not. That's why a lot of people will recommend starting with more juveniles and waiting for a pair to form or buying a breeding pair from a breeder. Good luck!!!

when they are fully mature, males will have a slight bump in the forehead, while the females' will be straight. However, this is difficult to note unless you have a male and a female side by side for comparison, and even experts will fail to identify them accurately.

When they pair off, you know you have a couple. When the female lays the eggs, you know their sexes. :hang:

Yea how do I know when they have reached maturity? 2 of mine are about 1.5 - 2 inches in diameter (not including fins)... are those pretty much mature?

lol... I have a breeding pair, and still can't tell them apart except when they're actually spawning :) (well, I know the female has a black marking over her eye, but no actual differences)

They're mature when they pair off.
