The water change doesn't have to be a gravel vac or anything. It can be a small change. But if your still too busy, tomorrow even should be fine.

I tested the water again and it did seem to go down, it's now a little over .50 I just find this odd though because a week ago I took a sample to my LFS and they tested it and it was fine. I don't know the exact number but it wasn't as high as it is now. That's what makes me think I'm over feeding. I haven't fed them today, I may feed them a little in the morning.
Is this a new tank, or one that is already established? If it's new than this is part of the normal cycle and will require alot of water changes anyway. And so a 1.0 nitrite lvl from a week ago reading is really normal.
I've had it up and running for about a month now. So are you saying my nitrites are just now spiking?
