sorry for the delay, been sort of busy lately.
my experience? they suck. ( tt 500) i use mine now as a backup filter on a 90g with an emp 400 and a fluval 404. i have found mine to be very temperamental, with the chamber design being iffy at best and requiring almost constant adjustment. the nozzles have to be directed some special way for the chamber to work at all and the flow and filter accumulation also figure into this somehow. they are not long enough to reach deep enough into the tank by a long shot and i am not sure if there is a way to extend the inlet, but i would suspect not. i have to remove the inlet or otherwise shut off the pump at water changes. there is also a loose little piece that needs to fit on the end of the inlet when it is reinserted, *that* is just poor design, period. 1/2 the time you have to stick your hand into the filter to guide it back in and it still never seems to point the right direction. the fancy new filter bags plug entirely too easy, and if you use standard white ones, *that* also requires adjustments to make the chamber work. the little cup that makes the chamber work is also not very well attached, i would suspect for cleaning and it pops off the seat alot. it is noisy, either the slurp with the water or the vibration noises for no apparent reason or the hard plastic top vibrating against the body of the filter because of the vibration.
had enough yet?
get the emperor or an aquaclear....... much better filters in my opinion.
