I ordered a package from thatpetplace.com and I have had nothing but trouble communicating with the company. Has anyone had this much trouble with them or is it just me?

I had ordered some stuff and asked for 2nd day Fed Ex Shipping. My package was shipped Thursday AM.

I have been tracking this package and Friday A.M. it was in Indianapolis, IN and Saturday A.M. it was in Berkeley, MO. I'm a little confused as to why it went to Missouri when the package was to be delievered in Illinois. It had to back track and that seems a little mixed up to me. I realize that there was a Holiday but that still doesn't explain why it went from Indiana to Missouri (when it had to go through Illinois in the first place) so that it could go back to Illinois.

Anyone seen this happen before? Perhaps one of you could help clarify this situation no one seems to be able to explain this one to me. Of course I will probably feel stupid once I find out the reason but it doesn't hurt to ask I hope.

Well, that's not thatpetplace's fault, it's the delivery company's fault. I have never had problems with TPP and I have ordered from them a few times. I find big al's usually has better prices though... but I digress. Anyway, if the package doesn't arrive 2nd day, call fedex and ask them if they can send you a refund check for the shipping or something. Might work.

And I wouldn't worry about it going to weird places. The delivery company has the fastest routes time-wise and best cost-wise etc all in a computer and the package routing is all computerized, so sometimes it goes places that might seem weird.

I agree, I've used TPP for lots of stuff and they've been great, especially when an order was incorrectly filled or something was damaged thru shipping.

The routes used by the big shipping companies are often dictated by where their distribution hubs are, not by what might be the shortest route between you and the shipper.

I am horribly impatient when ordering something, and there are few things I hate more than having a holiday weekend add 3 days to my '2nd day' shipment. But where a package goes en route to you isn't really something to get worked up over, as long as it reaches you when they promise.

Hope your stuff arrived in once piece!

I have the exact same problem as the original poster right now. I have been unable to get it resolved (this has dragged on for a couple months now) I may have to figure out how to get my credit card to refund the money. I had to order my new Ehiem from F&S instead (and pay more for it).

I have used thatfishplace.com many times and I have not had any problem with them. As far as going to MO, that would depend where you are in ILL. I think the hub for southern IL. and MO. is in Earth City.
