For newbies and advanced holdouts(you know who you are), the AGA is having Amano speak this year in Baltimore at their annual convention.

There is also an aquascaping contest so get your entries in by the deadline(Sept). Cost are very low and the TAG alone is worth it.

TAG has many good articles and has been running for close to 15 years now.
If you like plants, this is the group to join.

Also at http://www.gwapa.org. GWAPA is hosting this year. The hotel and meetings are in Virginia, immediately across the Potomac from downtown DC. Field trips will include the Baltimore Aquarium and the Aquarium Center in Randallstown, MD.
