In the past I have done much business with a company in my town called "Counterparts Electronics".
This place has been around a long time, and if you needed to do something with electronic devices of any kind, this was THE place to go to get the parts, and help.
The staff were knowledgable, friendly (most of them) and they had just about every part/piece/accessory/tool you could think of, for electronic hobbyists and professionals, and if they didn't have it, they could get it. This was the Home Depot of electronics stores.
They did alot of business, ALOT.
Well, just last week I was in need of some LEDs, and figured I would just pop over at lunch (I work 2 mins away, walking) and grab what I needed.
So lunch time rolls around, and like a little boy going to the candy store, I hop, skip and jump over to the store, and upon reaching my destination, I see that the lights are off, and no one is home.
Once I reach the door, I see a notice, stating that their lease has been terminated as of march 28th, due to $4000 owing in rent.
Like a child whose favorite candy store had just been burned to the ground, My heart sunk, and I felt saddend, Then thoughts started racing through my head, maybe they had just moved, I mean whats the point of paying your bills if your going to move, they make a ton of cash anyway they will just pay it later.....
So I head back to work, and continue the rest of my day, heartbroken, and depressed.
Once I get home I call them, hoping for a new number or some more information..... nothing, the number is out of service.
check the website.... gone....just like the store.
and just like that, one of the best stores ever is gone....
