So I 29 and i have been told (by many people) that I am the oldest 29 year old in the world. i have more experience in more of life than most my age, but where I really appear old is the Classics. I love old TV shows, movies, music and radio. I don't listen to pop stuff at all. I hear it when my wife and daughter has it on and on occasion i hear something catchy, but my dial is always on talk or the classics.

I have XM and my most favorite music is 40's through the 70's. Bing Crosby to Led Zepplin.
My favorite radio show is Gunsmoke. I have evry episode on cd in MP3 format and listen to it for hours.
TV-Bonanza, Gunsmoke, All in the Family, Dukes of Hazzard, and many more.
Movies- I'm a western fanatic. My all time faves are Rio Bravo and Eldorado. I could go on forever with movies, but also Outlaw Josey Whales and Hang'em High

My youngest daughter (2) is named Brooklyn Daisy Grace. Brooklyn was Mom's idea. I named her Daisy after Daisy Duke my first crush and Grace after Gracie Allen. (George Burns' wife of 38 years for those who don't know)

So let's talk classics. Anyone else a fan? Tell me your favorites.

Try some Benny Goodman Quartet.

Westerns- How about High Noon, Shane, The Wild Bunch.

Check out Mork and Mindy, Soap, The Carol Burnett Show.

Marx Brothers and W.C. Fields if you want to go way back.

I am a lot older than you and grew up on old B&W movies on TV- the original King Kong is a gas.

I'm 22 and yeah, I'm definately a fan of the classics...

Very nice. Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash (My all time favorite singer), James Dean, and you got me on the last one.

I'm like TwoTank I grew up on all that old stuff.I am not to much any more for watching tv but I do watch once in a while all the old westerns on Starz-The Rifleman was my all time favorite,I just loved Chuck Conners.
And Johnny Cash was the best along with Waylon when it came to music.Old sitcoms I liked were Petticoat Junction,The Honeymooners,I Love Lucy,Bewitched & Mr.Ed. And cartoons then were so much better-Mr Magoo,Rocky & Bullwinkle,The Flintstones & Huckleberry Hound. And The Jetsons was o.k to.Wow memory lane I could go on and on:grinyes:

Mork and Mindy

WOW! There's a blast from the pat. I used to watch that when I was a kid, but haven't seen it since then. Wasn't that a spin off of Happy Days? I believe the Fonze found Mork or something.

The Rifleman

The Rifleman is great. I haven't seen it in a very long time. TVland used to play it occasionally, but I have't watched TV in a very long time.

Johnny Cash was the best along with Waylon when it came to music

IMO Johnny was great no matter what. Alone or with anyone else. Do you remember The Highwaymen? Johnny cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristopherson. They were great together. Highwayman is one of my favorite songs.

I liked were Petticoat Junction,The Honeymooners,I Love Lucy,Bewitched & Mr.Ed.

All very good. I never was much of a fan of I Love Lucy, but I don't pass it up when it's on. Jackie Gleason was great too. I really liked him in smoky and the Bandit. Bewitched was one of my favorites growing up. And Mr. Ed still makes me laugh.

Mr Magoo,Rocky & Bullwinkle,The Flintstones & Huckleberry Hound. And The Jetsons was o.k

I'm still a toon fan. It's a great time to be my age right now. All the great cartoons I loved are nowbecoming block buster movies! Ironman was awsome, Transformers was more than i ever expected and one of the best movies of all time IMO. I could go on and on. Scooby Doo was a great toon, but i didn't care for the movies. My daughter loves them.

I'm big on classics too . . .

- All in the family was great,

- I love Lucy, (Yes, I watched it, and enjoyed it too!!! ) :D

- Threes company,

- Different Strokes,

- Flintstones,

- Merry Melodies,

As for music, too much to mention. but it goes from early 30s blues, (which was the foundation of so much stuff that came afterwards), through to 50s surf, 60s psychadelic rock, 70's darker rock...

Would you believe my younger brother was in the Peanut Gallery with Buffalo Bob and Howdy Doody- back when TV was live.

Frist TV show I remember watching was in B&W and called: "I remember mama" It ran from 7/1/49 - 3/17/1957 on CBS.

As a young boy or 7 or 8 I remember getting up early and parking in fron of a test pattern waiting for broadcasting to resume. The first show on was called "The Modern farmer" and was produced by the USDA and explored the latest in farming Techniques. Next came "Victory at Sea" about the Navy during WWII. And then the cartoons came on. They were mostly silents with music- Farmer Gray who was always plagued by mice. I think these were made in the 20s or 30s.

If you want more TV/Radio shows to check out- Amos and Andy, Abbot and Costello, Flash Gordon.
