I was amazed to see the reappearance of my orange spotted goby. I haven't seen it in over a week and this afternoon it reappeared looking great! I don't get that at all?????

happens all the time.... gobies are fantastic at finding new hiding spots. I know a guy who "lost" a clown goby in a 75G reef for 4 months, until one day it popped out of nowhere again.
I haven't seen my clown goby in about 2 weeks. The tank is only a 20g, so there isn't a lot of room to dissapear. I've had the goby for about 6 months, and it was always hanging out on the rocks where I could see it. I think it may have died when the heater malfunctioned and the temp dropped about 9 degrees. I looked all over the tank and the floor, but never saw its body. Maybe the peppermint shrimp ate its remains? Maybe it's just hiding like yours, but it seems unlikely in such a small tank.
I had a watchman disappear in my 75g reef for 3 weeks or so also. Thought he was dead, happy to find out he was alive.
