The Mandarin Fish Thread

I would not get one for a 40 unless I had a fuge. It would not survive long term. Especially if it was not the only pod eater in the tank.

I will not be buying a mandarin unless it is eating frozen food for that reason, a mandarin will not get enough food if it was to only feed from pods, and there are no other pod eaters in my tank.

Oh ok yeah that would be nice to find one that eats brineshrimp, mysis.

A LFS down the road sells them, some are eating brine some aren't, i will ask the owner to feed before i buy, i was thinking of starting up a 2 ft with a load of LR in there and get a population of mysid shrimp going for food, incase the mandarin stops eating, what do you think?

mandarins arent starter fish they cant be added anysooner than 4 months after the tank is set up and thats only if they eat frozen food. if they dont at least a year is needed before addding one.
