It took 30 mins, but I got the bandage on her. I did it actually on friday, and it lasted until saturday. She picked it off, but it had enough time to allow the scrap to scab over so it wouldn't get infected. Taking her to the vet tommorow to be sure.

So sad... :(

Looking at the place the wound is, and from your description of the size and shape, and how it appeared. Makes me think that your dog is allergic to fleas, and he did this to himself by knawing. It is very common that this happens at the base of the tail. Im curious to see what the vet tells you.

Congrats on getting the bandage to stay that long! Nice dog...

Looks like she will be fine. Don't forget to give the meds to her... Most likely the vet will put her on something.

Hey, there were Levis on in one photo, then they were gone...

Just kidding...

The legs were a lot nicer in the no levis picture.

O.K. went to the vet. He took one look and in about 5 seconds said.

"That is a hot spot!!!"

Turns out she just had a staff infection in her skin. The vet said it is comman and easily treated. He had to shave her more to expose some unseen infection. He then gave her a shot to help with the itching and poured this drying agent on the infection. I then got some antibiotics for her and off we went. She weighs a good 53.5 pounds.

It is kinda funny. He shaved half of her tail and half her left leg. She looks like a poodle that got away from the clippers.
