"No good deed goes unpunished" is a cliche', but cliche's exist for a reason.

So I figured out a girl I work with was stealing a lot of money from the store, so I subtly let her know I knew what was up so she had a chance to clean up her act before she got caught, instead of going to the manager and looking like a narc. Since that day, she's treated me like total poo, and I went to work today and found out I didn't have a job. Now, I know my performance is well above par, and nobody had said anything negative to me at all, so naturally I was totally slackjawed.

Turns out, her and the people she was working with to steal money without it being very noticeable made up a bunch of stuff about me after I called them out on their scheme. I explained what was going on to the manager, but since they'd all been working there longer than myself, he decided to believe them and not me. POOF, I'm out of work.
That's the thanks I get for doing someone a favor...

He's the fool for not watching his money...and now that you're fired, who cares if they take his money. They'll eventually get caught anyway and your good name will be realized.

I don't care about my good name, really... I mean I don't work there anymore. This was my last weekend of work and I would have come out of it with about $200 cash tips, and these ******** **********ers screwed me out of my job.

what goes around comes around. Im sure either he will realize that his staff is stealing from him.

I'm not sure your "good deed" would really count as a good deed. You were covering for a thief (I know you meant well). That doesn't change the fact that you were helping somebody get away with stealing from you business.

Live and learn.
A dishonest person won't see the light and make amends when they have an opportunity to watch you go down in flames for what they did (and will quit doing, for a while).

Next time, do the right thing and go straight to supervision.

If those were the kind of people to steal on a regular basis, it's no surprise they didn't suddenly see the error in their ways just because you brought it up to them. You put yourself in a bad situation. You should have either told management, or looked the other way. That's how it is in the real world. Your job is looking out for yourself first.

That is total CRAP...Yes you should of gone to management, but you did what you felt was right and most likely had you gone to management, they would of gone to the co-workers and they would of said the same story and they result would of been the same.

Sorry for your luck
