There is life for Stern yet

Well I had to make the recordings at home then put them on another hard drive and bring it into work. Most people wouldn't be alowed to bring in their own harddrive to install in our computers, but I'm special like that. :)

I've got two monitors on my desk I stare at for 8 1/2 hours every day under flourescent lighting then go home and sit down in front of another. I'm afraid I'm going to go blind before I hit 30. :\ I'm half tempted to find a new line of work.

Sounds like you and i are in the same boat. I go to work and write code for 9 hours and then come home and do more coding for various consulting projects. In my spare time i spend time writing code for open source projects. So all in all i spend 95% of my day in front of a computer but thats still better than sitting in meetings all day.

Have you looked into setting up a streaming media server at home for music? I did it for awhile but my ISP got wise on my excessive bandwidth usage and threatened to drop my account.

That's not really an option for me because I'm still on 56k dial-up. My only possible broadband option (other than satelite) was overpriced last I checked. Monopolies suck. That'll definately be something I look for when I'm in the market for a house though.

My broadband is way way overpriced to but i get to expense it back to my job (job perk) since i am sometimes have to connect via VPN at the wee hours of the morning. I suggest using a linux distro as your media server, it will run much better. :D
