I heard him announce it this morning- so now we have to equip the cars and the house with Sirius. I was undecided in whether to get that or XM- this seals the deal.
A small price to pay as far as I'm concerned. I like my entertainment uncensored.

I'm just glad he didn't come to XM.

/not a fan of radio personalities

Have you seen the new premium station dubbed "High Voltage" that XM has released? It stars Opie and Anthony (i have no idea who these guys are) and is on for 4 hours a day. I guess its a Howard Stern type show. I know i'm not going to pay $1.99 to listen to those guys talk when i have 100 other channels to choose from.

I cant wait for XM to launch their new online streaming music product!

I was listening to howard stern this morning also. He said that his normal show will be free, and it will be brodcast 2-3 times a day, so if you miss the morning show, you can catch it in the afternoon. Im excitied about it, I think this could lead to a boom in satelite radio, with the extra money sirus makes, they could get other people, and even appeal to more people who may not like Howard Stern. Im excited about it.

I've heard about it, but there's no way I'm paying for that either. There're so many great channels to choose from in the basic lineup already. I usually end up keeping it parked on Lucy, but it's fun to surf around and find new music sometimes. I'd never have exposure to most of it through local radio.

I had bought one of the XM-PCRs before they pulled them from the market, so I just recorded a few gigs of MP3s to take into work where I can't get a signal. Maybe it's all in my head, but I have a hard time listening to Internet streams for very long before I get a headache from the low quality.

A guy a work with bought one but he said we didnt get any reception in our building so i didnt bother with buying one. I haven't heard or read any official word on what the quality will be but i hope its good. I get headaches too from listening to the low quality web feeds, of course florescent lights and staring at a computer screen for 9 hours a day doesnt help.

Well I had to make the recordings at home then put them on another hard drive and bring it into work. Most people wouldn't be alowed to bring in their own harddrive to install in our computers, but I'm special like that. :)

I've got two monitors on my desk I stare at for 8 1/2 hours every day under flourescent lighting then go home and sit down in front of another. I'm afraid I'm going to go blind before I hit 30. :\ I'm half tempted to find a new line of work.

they are a talk show duo that started in the NY market on 102.7 I believe and quickly gained a following and got syndicated all over the place for afternoon drive time 4-7 spot.
They had a lot of zany contest for various events, lots of sexual themes, and general tom-foolery.
They were worth listening to for free (when compared to top 40 radio which saturates the NY market) however I wouldn't pay to listen to them. Nor to Stern. They just aren't that good...Tom Lykis on the other hand, now thats a funny bast-ARD!!! If they had Stern, O&A, Lykis, Ron & Fez, Radio Chick on one format then I'd get on board and pay maybe 5$ a month. But the seperation of programming into different formats is GA-Y

Why is bast'ard ***'ed out on here? thats ridiculous

Because, for some people, that particular sequence of letters starts a sequence of reactions in the brain that ultimately ends with the cranium imploding and exploding simultaneously. It's really quite painful I hear.

Also, it doesn't really contribute to a friendly atmosphere.
