They made it!!!!

I can tell you that the many little juvies I have in my 15 and 10 gallon tanks are beginning to squabble over space...I had to take a good number of them to the LFS this past weekend just to thin the herd a bit....but I don't think that 2 of those little things in a 10 gallon will have too much trouble with realestate issues.

Nope. They're pretty friendly with each other. Hidey has his/her space, and is not a huge fan of it being "invaded", but doesn't chase the other around by any means.

mine are always chasing each outher around the tank......and there not shy at all they come up to the top of the tank when i open it up....their really cool fish..i just hope the chasing isnt stressing the outher one out...i feed mine peas and flakes right now.....gonna try some mini omega one.....i hear thats exelent food.....im gonna have to take some pics to see if i can find out if i have a pair or not

My pair (in 20 gal high) are taking care of a batch of 1.5 week old babies but they just started out another batch. The 1.5 week old babies did not bother the new eggs, but when the eggs became wigglers, they attacked them brutally (...like shark eating seal in Discovery Channel!)

That happens yesterday and today I don't see the new wigglers anymore. May be a few still "hiding" in the plants or gravell, but I think most of them are dead or eaten.

Next time, I probably would take the parents out when they are about to spawn a new batch.. I want to raise them the "natural way" (also due to limit space), but seeing those defenseless wigglers got attacked by their sibblings are a bit too much :(

Nice Pic Aqua ! Are those two yours ?

Thanks, and yes, they are my current 2 blue rams. This is my 3rd try at keeping them. My first two pairs (obtained from different sources at different times) would either died suddenly shortly after I got them, or would laid eggs but never last unil hatching...

BTW, What do you feed your baby rams?

I started with baby brine shrimp and then some very small "first food for baby fish" stuff....powderlike and full of nutrients for little fish. Now I feed them mini granules...and occasionally still the powderlike stuff...which I bought at PetSmart.

I started out a brine shrimp hatchery today (2 litter coke bottle + airpump) and with some small amount of brineshrimp eggs from my Petsmart...

Where do you get Brine shrimp eggs? I think the stuff we got at LFS does not have good hatching rate and much more expensive (by weight). I'm looking for some mail/internet order source...TIA

I bought a good amount of shrimp eggs on ebay for only 15$....and I still have some left after a huge betta spawn and right through the needs of my ram fry. I don't remember the wieght of the batch that I bought...but it sure was a good deal for me !!
