Well, I thought I'd start a thread for your thoughts to be answered. Ever wondered something about this hobby and not sure of an answer? Ever wondered something about the the world and not sure of the answer. Come share it over here and hopefully someone has an answer.

Today as I sat down in my "Thinking Spot" and I started to wonder something about the ocean. Out in the ocean when it rains the water falls right in the ocean (and of course dilutes the salinity of the water somewhat), right? So, I thought, could I use rain water as "top-off" water in my tank?

And another question came to mind, where exactly does the "salt" in saltwater come from?

if ice cream has no bones...how many eggs to the quart?

I wonder what makes some fish of the same species have better genetics then others.
When my kuhli loaches died...What was inferior about the one/two that died?. All six lived under the same conditions, were introduced at the same time and yet for some reason these one/two didn't survive.
Obviously there is something that the surviving fish possess that is genetically superior.

If the bad conditions were to continue ( hope not) and only one kuhli survived...What would that fish have to survive longer then the rest?.
Maybe a stronger heart?...better oxygen capacity in their gills?...A better circulation system?...maybe stronger kidneys filtering their body better?.

I have always wondered why some fish float when they die and some sink

because gasses buld up inside the body until it escapes through the intestines(out the bum), then they sink

it depends on how long the fish has been dead

i think they drop when they die, and float when they start to decompose.
