Well, as you guys may or may not know I currently have 2 systems running in my house:

55 gallon reef setup
  • 2x maxi-jet 1200
  • Coralife SS65
  • 70 Lbs LR
  • 40 Lbs CC/sand/shells/whatever else came in the bags of Arag-Alive Substrate
  • 20+ corals
  • BTA
  • Cleaner Shrimps
  • 30+ Snails
  • 20+ Hermits
  • No fish due to ich quarantine action (7 more weeks...ha!)
My other tank (the one I'm thinking of consolidating too:

29 gallon reef (beginnings)
  • Hydor Koralia 1
  • 220 watt PC hood
  • Maxijet 1200 (soon to be replaced my another Koralia...maybe a 2 this time...
  • Emporer 400 HOT (soon to be replaced too)
  • 40 Lbs live sand (sugar sized...learned my lesson on that one!)
  • 30 Lbs live rock
Now, my plan is this...and possibly subject to change...

I decided that the 55g wasn't big enough to keep the fish I'd want in a bigger tank anyway...and I'm learning that fish aren't even my favorite part of tank keeping anymore.

I've learned what corals I like, and which I don't.

I've recently been offered a nice little Aquafuge HOT setup, which I plan to house LS, Macro, pods...
  • I plan on building a hood to hold the lights
  • I plan on sticking the fuge on the back
  • I plan on running skimmerless and filterless
  • I plan on throwing in another 20ish lbs of LR (if it'll fit...whatever looks comfortable)
  • I plan on replacing Maxi with another Hydor
I currently have 2 clowns (and they will have their host BTA soon)
I have a pygmy hawkfish
I have 4 green chromies

I would like to get some kind of Mandarin, sometime in the future, but will see how the pod thing goes first with the fuge

And that's it. I'd like a simple, naturally filtered system.

Any thoughts?:spam:

sounds great, by by george dont skip the skimmer man!

The amount of WC you'd be doin to keep your levels in check would be like a full time job!

what type of lights are you gonna get?

get a pair of mandrins for the 55 in like a year!, show pics, sounds sweet!
