Yeah, it is scarey, I ship aquatic plants from time to time and only once did I get burned (for snails of all things, but he stuck me for two shipments plus postage). So, now I get money upfront by paypal or by mail. If it is by mail, specify money order or check -- people will send you cash which is not wise.

The bigger risk is actually the buyers, for at least on Ebay you have some purchase protection. Here, you just have your online reputation so a new poster like yourself is an unknown.

All of these are reasons why local may be better for you. Have you tried an ad in the classifieds (can be pricey but in my city tanks go fast), or is there a for-sale-online in your city? You also might search for the local fish clubs, Google fish club or society in your city or state. You may find killie or betta or cichlid or goldfish societies locally. The local fish stores may let you post a for sale sign.

Also, there are lots of online fish classifieds, like this one. You can post "for local pickup -- your city" and may get responses.

Get busy, and remember, I'm first for the magnums if they don't go with the tanks.

Today I stopped @ one of the biggest LFS in Pittsburgh and talked w/a sales rep, and I'm to, and just did, e-mailed him the list & he is to give me an estimate on trading this all up for a tall 65 gal w/ oak cabinet and glass hood w/ lights for 303.95 + tax, minus what they'll give me for my stuff ,but first I have to take all the fish up to be checked and hopefully purchased, then I have to take all this stuff down & get it cleaned and looking pretty and we'll see. I'd most definatly get more cash out if sold out right but time is of the essance. At least this LFS isn't far out of my way going or comming from work. wish me luck!

Well, remember what I offered on the filters, odds are he wont really be interested in the used filters, maybe. I'd expect that he'd take the tanks and that set up as one unit, move the fish out to his tanks, and ditch the filters.

Anona, being hopeful
