Horse racing is cruel. They force them to run far too soon, work them too hard, kill off any not up to par, it's all just ridiculous. It is a lot like backyard breeders. Breed and sell as many as possible from winners just to score 1 or two offspring that turn into winners. All animal sports like this need to be stopped.
It takes years to get ex racers into regular horses, to be pasture buddies or pleasure riders. It's a heck of a lot of work to turn them back into good animals.
