thoughts on FW stingrays

Ditto. Having a stingray is like having a little kid. You will not know until you get one.

Hmmmmm, wondering if I could modify the tank I have by taking off on of the sides, and then having it cut to fit the top of the tank essentially tilting the tank on it's side. this tank have really thick heavy glass though. I'd probably have to take it to some special place to get it cut. Of course then I would have a tank that's 48" long, by 30" wide and 18" deep for rays.
I know I have alot of time before I do this anyway. still gotta do some research, plus I gotta find a place to get stingrays anyway.

I've also found stingrays to limit your decorative impulses. A stingray tank can't be heavily decorated or planted, since rays keep moving stuff around and uprooting plants.

Where I work we have 2 FW Stingrays in a 210gallon tank with a sand bottom.

Patoloco....whoever told you motoros get a 12" disc is way off They get much much larger. There is just way too much info about FW rays. I'll link MFKs stingray section.

I have a retic. in a 300 gallon tank. One of the best purchases I've made
