was at my LFS-which is saltwater, but for me and a few other people he orders freshwater. He had some threadfin rainbowfish....and man,
were they cool. i liked them a lot.

however, they were labeled "large" on the shipment box...
but the fish were like...barely even an inch...

How big do they get?
any special requirements?

I just love the threadfin rainbows! My biggest male is about 2". I feed mine decapped brine shrimp, golden pearls, and veggie flake combo. I moved mine into their own tank (yes, I bought a tank just for them lol) so hopefully I'll have baby ones soon. They like lots of plants. From what I've read online, they lay their eggs on plant leaves. I gave them 8 choices of plant species. LOL I also keep them with a species of shrimp and baby snails so the ph is about 7.5 and I add calcium. They've been in there about a month and are looking great!

If anyone else has more info on them, I'm interested too!

thanks for the info!
i called my guy at the LFS for you,
and he said use spawning mops.

let them float in the top, and take them out at weekly intervals
to a raising tank. apparently this is the way to go!

Hmmm.... think I'll steal some moss from another tank. Do you just lay it in the bottom? I have most of mine attached to corks floating for the shrimp.

I used fishing line and attached it to the drift wood in the tank, as soon as i notice there are eggs i move them into a 5 gallon tank for hatching

Get them while you can. :D They're gorgeous fish!
