Well my tank is almost complete. I just need a few middle-top area fish. I need fish that are min. 3" and max 6" long. They can be tall. I want one that is active. I have nocturnal bottom dwelling fish and a couple surface dwelling fish but nothing in the middle so the tank looks empty when I look at it. I want peaceful fish but semi-aggressive will be ok. I figured a pair or three max. as I am nearing my max amount of fish to have in this tank. I like to look at colorful and/or graceful fish. I can't stand fish like certain tetras that will dart around the tank. I was thinking angels but I've not seen any I liked at the store. They just kinda look.. plain.. as far as color goes (the only store I trust to buy fish from only have black and white striped ones). Any ideas as to what other fish there are that would fit these parameters?

If you want really nice blue colour and alot of activity I suggest dwarf neon rainbows. Check out this site for a great pic and some info: http://members.optushome.com.au/chelmon/Praecox.htm
They will stay in the middle area of the tank and be very active. They will reach a max of about 2.5 inches, but you can get other rainbows that are larger. A group of 3-5 dwarf neons would look great tho!

rainbows, keyhole cichlids (not real colorfull but have wonderfull personality IMO), altispinoza might be nice, rams, kribs. theres lots of neat smaller cichlids you could look into. smaller geophagus fish. rainbow cichlids ( again not real bright but the way they swim around is amusing as hell). how big is the tank anyways?
