That's the ones. I picked mine up for somewhere between 1-3 dollars each when I got some. I can't remember the exact figure now. Anyway, they are cheap fish and do the algae trick and look pretty nifty too. Glad to be of help.sublime1184 said:http://thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/oto-vittatus.htm
these? those sound good and look nice. THX Harlock!
anybody know price ranges on those guys?
I have a story about them not fearing a gravel vac... I was refilling and the pressure made it slip... the gravel tube smacked one of my cute Otos against the side of the tank... bye bye Oto. I felt like total crap that day. Needless to say I dry my hands off thoroughly before handling the Python after I prune...sillyputty said:We have an Otto and he's a great fish. He's in a 10 Gallon with 3 male fancy guppies, 2 platies, and 2 blue snails. Nothing bothers this fish! He doesn't startle, even when siphoning I have to practically nudge him out of the way. He can be very active though and swims midlevel from plant to glass to bottom,.....
I have heard some people say they are sensitive but we have had no trouble. I would wait till the tank is pretty established and growing some algea though. I think we got him after about 6 to 8 weeks.
You also might think about a snail, they can be very entertaining. Ours fight the fish for the algea wafers. Sometimes the snail wins, sometimes the fish!
