I am getting a 75 gallon tank either today or tomorrow and I'm using it to combine 3 of the smaller tanks that I have. (10, 20 and 29 gallon). I want to put all three of my angels in my big tank, but in the 20, I have six tiger barbs that really need to go in there too. So far the barbs have been pretty well behaved, but their only other tank mate has been a rubberlip pleco and one lone columbian tetra. Do you think that it would be a problem? Or should I not even try it.

I don't think you should try it. They may or may not nip but they just don't go well together no matter the tank size and number of fish. Just my opinion but it's up to you if you should try it.:)

Even with a large grouping they will find time to bother the angels.

Some people claim to have done it without issue, but you would be seriously risking the health of your Angels if you put them with the barbs.

I agree with the above posts. I would not chance it.

I have tried it and it did not work at all. They were relentless at nipping the Angels. Needless to say since I have Angels in all my tanks the Tiger barbs went back to the lfs.

While I was looking for compatable fish for tiger barbs, I never once found a place that said angels would work. Even the woman at Petco told me never mix tiger barbs with angels. I told her not to worry. The angels are in my 50 corner tank, and the barbs will be in the 55. But most other combinations you find people or sites that will have at least some say it is okay.

I have an angel and 3 tiger barbs in a 30G. They are fine, but i think i got lucky with the well behaved barbs, they leave the angel alone. Probably cos its much bigger than them, but if i were you it is still a gamble with the odds against you.
