I am thinking about setting up a tank for just tiger barbs. The tank is only ten gallons. I was how many I could put in the tank. Also, what is their natural enviroment, what could I do to the tank to make it look like "home"?

Tiger barb should be in a school of six or more and I'm not too sure if your tank is big enough. Maybe someone else could tell you for sure about that, but tiger barbs like to be in a planted tank with a little room to move around in.

I'd go with 7 Tiger Barbs. They need some open space to swim in but they also like live plants. My tiger barbs sleep in my Amazon Sword Plant (Too big for a 10 gallon). Maybe some Java Fern and Anacharis would work for you. Just make sure you fishless cycle the tank so you can add the Tigers all at once your they might kill each other if added slowly.

10 gallons is fine for 7 Tiger Barbs but I would be reluctant to add more fish if you go with the 7 Barbs.

Personally, I think a 10g is too small for tigers. Any nippy/aggressive fish just becomes more so the smaller the tank, and I've seen some pretty large tigers. I would go with a different kind of fish, or a larger tank, but ultimately the decision is yours!! Good luck
