Hey,

I currently have one tiger oscar, and recently, I've noticed it doesn't appear as lively as before. It's also not eating as much and has been shying away from me when I approach the tank.

I also noticed that one of its eyes appears to have a light reddish glaze over it. Does anybody have any experience with this type of problem? The last time I changed the water was a little over a week ago; I've got the water temp at about 76-78 F right now and I've fed it pretty regularly. The only real change has been the addition of a new, slightly brighter light bulb to the aquarium, since the old one burned out. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

How large is the aquarium and the oscar? The reddish tint to the eye is probably just because of the reflection from the light. Also have you tested your Ammonia and Nitrite levels? If so what are they?

Few comments/questions:
how big is the tank?
what are your water test results?
the brighter light may be making him shy

few things to try:
provide him with some shade or a darker area in the tank
turn up the temp to about 80
do a 30% water change
