Tiki Hut

Not a total DIY, I purchased it many years ago but the original design did not figure in gravel filter bublers and quickly came apart at the seems. That caused the first rebuild some 15+ years ago. Then a few weeks ago another leak developed, not sure from where most probably the multi piece glass on the bottom. The original builder used 3 pieces of glass for the bottom with another strip of glass across the seam. Many places for leaks. So this time when rebuilding I replace that glass and another that broke. I did have to cut the plywood to size and build the box, nail all those little pieces of bamboo on the plywood then insert the glass and seal. So I guess you could say 50/50 DIY. Many improvements on the original design for strenth and functionality.

Different for sure!

don't bala sharks needs to be in groups?well nice looking!

Yes I have read they do bettter in groups, this one outlived his group mates and I got some more babies but shortly thereafter the tank sprung a leak and I lost :lipssealedsmilie:most all the new fish from stress moving to the emergency tank . As soon as the tank has gone through it's cycle I will get him some more mates.

It's pretty nifty, really. My first thoughts went to either a "Haunted Tiki" look complete with maybe some bamboo torches on either side and a movie poster of King Kong, or some other jungle themed film. Maybe some shrunken heads too for measure... or a Spongebob theme. Of course, I'm certifiably insane so that may have something to do with it. I likie!!!
