hey i have had a 20 gallon tank for around a year and a half now and i decided to change it from just guppies. So i got a 1 1/2 inch albino bristlenose, and 5 cardinals at the petshop i work at today and swapped the guppies. at work we have nice looking germen blue rams. or the other option is go with kribs we have a nice looking albino krib. any other ideas for what i should add :idea2: ?

Thanx heaps James

actually, i think your plan is awsome... i would get a pair of rams or kribs (m/f) and five or six more cardinals, assuming you have adaquate filtration and the tank is ready for the bioload. An albino bristlenose? NICE

interestingly enough, that was my initial plan for a 20 gallon a couple of years ago, but for some reason, i couldn't find decent A. ramirezi (blue rams). its actually a nice biotope plan as all species are from S America... nice to tell visitors (dazzle with BS, ya know)

if you want to know more about rams, research "Z Man Apistogamma" on the web... i'm not sure if hes a member of this forum or not, but i conversed with him a few years ago at FishIndex.com. hes a nice guy who really knows his rams. i don't have the link to his website handy, but i can dig it up if you want.

i just reread your post... you work at a pet shop? nevermind the remedial stuff

yeah, dude, pack that thing full of cardinals and see if you cant get some breeding going. i'm partial to rams. my fav store has some fry working in their 'fish not for sale' tank.... hehe... we'll see about that

on my own front, i'm kinda planning a 40L...

rams, plecs, too many cardinals and maybe some hachetfish... lush with plants of course

cardinals are probably my favorite tetra, though i don't have any now

a set of black neons might make an interesting contrast for your tank. i picked some up last week and really like them. their body and behaviour is a lot like cardinals... i bet a mixed school would be really striking
