I use oil between the background and the glass. This way you can actually see the background clearly, water won't get trapped behind it, you can still remove it when you need a change, and it just looks better in general. Especially if you have an actual picture on the background. I just squeegee out the extra oil with an old library card. Oh, and no it doesn't smell like oil afterwards.
my background is plain navy cardboard so its just propped in behind the tank. It looks great and I can change it in about 5 minutes...thinking about trying a black one
I used black tape to the frame on the top and the bottom, but I still had buckling on the sides. So I tore my clear 2-sided tape in half and used small pieces on the edges to hold the sides down. Looks great, Thanks!
has anyone used any sort of spray adhesive/bonding agent on the background before putting it on? I wouldn't think on the tank, but on the background itself?
