Does anyone have tips on how to hide your aquarium stuff. Heater and pick up tubes are easy if you are planted because you just throw them behind some dense plant groups. But I can never figure out how to do the filter output. Right now it's a spray bar and it is aimed at the surface but still blows any plants nearby all over the place. Not to mention it sticks out like a sore thumb. I was thinking about ditching the spray bar and going with a jet to spray so it's more directed, but I still need to figure out how to hide the tube. Anybody try floating driftwood? What do you guys/gals do, or do you just ignore that ugly hardware?

aim the spray bar so it hits the back glass then add tall plants

I have pennywort floating on the surface of my tank - tends to hide it pretty well. I'm always messing with the flow direction though :)

I hide the large filter pump behind my sword. lol

Plants, plants and more plants. Also, if your looking for some intake or returns which are clear and blend in better than the unsightly grey, black, green, or whatever came with your equipment (I think these only work with canister filters tho), you can go here and buy them....

I have tried aiming the filter against the glass and it works well I just like some surface agitation to help oxygen exchange and to clean up the build up on the surface.

Has nobody tried floating driftwood? I find it hard to believe I am the first to think of this. Branches dip down into water in the wild all the time. I am thinking about trying this because I could use it to hide the filter output and give my filter shrimp something to stand on in the current.

$60+ for an intake! Bit too rich for my blood, but they are cool looking.

Greetings, hopeful 1, :)
I hide equipment all the time, yes, it is hooked up to the tank.

On my Eheim canister filters the intake tube always remains in the tanks (have these quick-connect hose thingees). Because the tube is stationary, I drape Java moss at different levels around it. Hides the tube completely.

Heater cords: all my heaters are installed horizontally near the bottom of the tanks. The elec. cord is draped along the bottom and comes up right behind the Eheim intake tubes, and this way I have 2 things hidden at the same time.

30 gallon tank with Hot Magnum filter, I don't worry about the filter hanging on the side and being seen. It reflects my eclectic, artistic taste.

I have XP3's and the filter output is black -- I found installing an all black background helped to draw the eyes away from it.
