Tips or tricks for netting a fish out of the tank?

OK - I just picked up a false Julii Cory with no barbels, and I am going to exchange him for a healthier one. I really stink at catching these critters in the tank ... especially those guppies!

Any tips to make it less stressful for me and the fish??

first put a net under the substrate so that u can lift it quickly, put a catfish pellet on top of the substrte wre the net is, when he feeds qckoly put aanther one on top. then put it in the bag.

I lower the water level and use a plastic lid from a storage container of some kind to herd the fish, separating them at the same time. Works for me.

I use 2 nets to corral them. I find it to be easier that way.

Don't try to use too small of a net. The smaller the net, the harder it is. As someone else suggested, another net, or something to 'herd' them with is a big help.

Also, you might want to remove some decorations if they are in the way.

2 nets is the key. Bend one so that you can press it flat against the tank side to catch him and then slide the other down to lift him out.

i usually do it whilst a water change. Makes it easier.

2 large nets + lowering the water level works well.
