I have a female angel that is about 1.5 years old.

When I went to Japan in March, I came home to find her upside down. She was like this for a week or so, but still swimming and eating. Then one day she was just back to normal... until now.

I'm assuming this is a swim bladder problem? A chronic one? Is there a treatment other than clean water and peaceful tankmates?

Tank is a standard 29 gallon with rummynoses, cories, and a bulldog pleco. She's the only angel in there. Water quality is pretty good: Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 and Nitrate: 10ppm. Everyone else is fine; the rummys have beautiful noses. No new stock.

Thanks.

I didn't think so either. I'm not sure how/when it was damaged; all I can think of is it was during the two weeks I was gone? I did a good sized water change before and after the trip, and they were only fed a few times by the petsitter.

I suppose as long as she's eating and seems unbothered to just let it be. I suspect she'll flip back over again.

What are you feeding the angel? I could be constipation related to diet.

I would suspect a diet problem.

It's funny you guys say that because I just read an article in one of the fish mags at work today that suggested the same thing. She's eating new life spectrum pellets, hikari pellets, dried krill, shrimp pellets, and algae wafers (the last two are not for her but she'll snack on them anyway).

Will angels eat peas? I know those work for goldies and bettas.

Also, what might I try switching her to? I'm not big on flakes.
