Sully, that"s simple enough- thanks. The angels in fact do prey upon these holes on the swords and take a few bites but I am not sure if they are the cause. I guess I am eager to learn more. If I use my tapwater, would I need mineral additives or will the weekly water changes suffice(I assume 20% would be sufficient)? I have read on some DIY formulas- they seem simple enough. Should I use co2 (and in what form) given my lighting. I also am getting a "pleasant growth of algae on my driftwood (now that my light is on 12 hours/D). Would an otta or SAE be compatible with a african sword(4-5 inches long)? And under ideal situations would my tank be better off with R/O water with appropriate additives(WE are getting one as a Christmas present)? Sorrry for all the questions.

What size tank? How many watts of light?
