Too much light?

I have a 10gl tank with 2 CPL 60W (actuall output is 14W each). Somebody told me that is way too much light. What do you guys think?
I had the light on for 10 hrs a day, but I don't want an algae outbreak. Now they are only on for 8 hrs. Would this be enough? or Do I need to change the bulbs for another ones with less wattage?

Yes, they are daylight (6500K). So 8 hrs a day is good or 10?

If the actual output is what you say it is that will be fine.I keep my lights on 12 hrs a day.

That's what the box says. "Replace 60W bulbs. Uses only 14W."

so then count them as 14w bulbs. and yes your okay.

That puts you at around 2.8 watts per gallon. if anything, you could have more.
