Topfin 125G Build, PetSmart BF Deal

I won't add them if water quality is bad. Ammonia is 0, nitrite 0. Nitrates were lower then expected, between 5 and 10.

I had staged some filter media in my old aquarium that I had placed in my new aquarium for a couple days before adding fish. Then moved some substrate, driftwood, and filter from old aquarium to new one.

I will give it a few more weeks before adding more fish though. Again, only if water continues to stay good.
Ok, good good! Glad to hear it. :)

3 angels is not a good number...at least 1 will get picked on or even killed. Are you thinking of adults or smaller? If you only want a couple, a true pair might be available (but old?, no way to tell). Or like I said get 5 or 6 younger fish but not tiny. That helps to spread the aggression around, they are cichlids, you know.

Do you do anything to clean mosquito larvae? I'd worry about introducing something bad, disease or critter.

Nope. Just place some java moss in a glass or bowl full of water. In couple days there's larvae. Just put the moss in the tank. Nothing yet. Not sure anything the mosquito is carrying will ever make it to their young.

Yeah, that might be problematic. And I'm fishing for other things lol. I wish the local fish here would keep their color in an aquarium. They always turn pale or grey. They are beautiful in their natural waters.

Yeah, there are some very beautiful NA fish. Check out NANFA for what species might work from where you are & husbandry help. Rainbow darters? I think were only truly spectacular during breeding...& only males. There's a buy & sell too if you need temptations. At least you get to see some in your backyard, lol, can you give us a hint where you are?

Kids really like how mollys follow your finger around. Will get a handful of those, fry extra food for pictus lol.

Platys are pretty interactive like that as well. Angels typically follow you around like a puppy dog too. I have a pair of angels in my 55g. Originally kept them in separate tanks. No aggression between them. One has laid eggs a few times but they don't seem to be viable and then get eaten. I almost think they're both females. Dunno for sure.

Central to eastern part of VA. Freshwater species are mostly sunfish. So many colors on them. Kind of remind you of discus. I had a few in an aquarium for months, but they never showed their color. Placed them back in pond I caught them from.
Our saltwater species, while cool looking, don't have many colors; grey/silver, brown, and black. Until you get off shore; which won't fit in an aquarium lol
