I am a fan of all large-mouth bass fishing. and from my experience i have found that i prefer to use top water lures. i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which top water lures i should use?

my personal fav.. arbogast Hula popper

I've used hula poppers and jitterbugs in leopard frog pattern with varying success. Rapala makes a topwater minnow that works awesome at early morn. and late afternoon. My favorite is the bomber in baby bass pattern.

yea iv always been a fan of jitterbugs, but the frog sounds like a good idea too. iv tried the minnow and i haven't had much success, and i have two torpedoes but i haven't tried them in the early morning. thanks for the reply everyone!

Topwater is my favorite way to fish so here is the list of what I have...

5" Spook bass colored
3" spook Bass colored
Silver black Popper
Frogs in 5 color variations
Several 3" floating minnows
7" floating jointed minnow rainbow trout pattern.

Buzz baits don't work to well up here but I do have one

Buzz bait has a season.. usually when the bass are spawning and extra aggro, noisy things **** them off. Easier for me
But floating minnows and broken backs are still preferred thoughout most of the season here as far as poppers

rattletraps are excellent for bass fishing
that is the general shape but they come in hundreds of designs
(a testament to their success)

But they are not topwaters which is what this thread is about...
