Hi all..
I have my male Betta, Sam, in a 29 gallon hex community tank. About a foot away, on my desk, is a 5 gallon hex with the lovely Rosie in it. I've noticed them swimming up and down in the tanks on the same wall.. almost like they are trying desperatly to get near each other. Is it just my romantic imagination or am I torturing them by having them so close together?
Rosie is fairly new and I could move her tank if necessary..it's only been one day though.. maybe they are just curious.
The 5 gallon hex is nice btw, made by 'Regent'. Plastic with built in bio-wheel filter. Got a little heater, some plant bulbs and 5 little Ghost shrimp friends for her. One of them has taken over her pretty little stone cave and is determined to keep the entire thing for himself.
Seems Rosie likes this better than the half filled cup of dirty water she used to call home.
Anyway.. please let me know if it's ok to keep them within view of each other.. I may try to breed them someday but for now I'd like to just learn more about em! :)

he's trying to Woo her and showing off. I think they like each other :)

My male and female betta tanks sit right next to each other, and I keep a nice piece of bright yellow construction paper between them most of the time. Sometimes I take the paper away and let them see each other for awhile--it seems to make them both more colorful and active to have someone else to look at sometimes. :)

Please dont breed them. There are too many bettas for sale at your local wal*pet*mart* for that.
If they seem to be spending too much time displaying for each other, move or visually seperate them. If they are still eating, exploring, acting like fish most of the time, they are ok. but please, dont breed them unless you have done EXTENSIVE research on the ins and outs. Its no different than the breeding of any species of animal.
